At Grupo Argraf, we’ve spent years watching something that matters more and more in the wine industry: a label is no longer just a legal requirement — it’s the first conversation a winery has with the person about to buy the bottle. That’s why, when the La Rioja Marketing Club invited us to take part in the VID Awards once again, there was no hesitation on our part. For another year running, Grupo Argraf is joining as a main sponsor of this competition, which recognises the best design, branding and packaging in the wine world.
The fourth edition of the VID Awards opens for entries on 10 July and will remain open until 30 October. Wineries, creative studios, designers and companies across the sector can submit their entries via www.premiosvid.com.
Why Wine Label Design Matters to Us
At Grupo Argraf, this is exactly what we do: turning a design concept into a wine label that holds up on the glass, survives time in the cellar, withstands handling at the winery and, above all, communicates what that brand wants to say on the shelf. We know that behind every wine label lie packaging decisions that go far beyond aesthetics — paper type, finishes, moisture resistance, consistency across a product line, or adapting to different formats and markets.
That’s precisely why the VID Awards resonate with us. They were created to champion design, brand-building and packaging as strategic tools for differentiation and competitiveness — and that’s exactly the conversation we have every day with the wineries who trust us with their label printing.

An Ecosystem That Grows Every Year
This fourth edition arrives with an even broader collaborative ecosystem: ADG-FAD (organiser of the prestigious ADG Laus Awards), AEBRAND, Hispack, Gràffica and InfoPack as media partners, alongside organisations such as ACREAR, the Mediterranean and Málaga Marketing Clubs, and the La Rioja School of Design (ESDIR). A network of organisations that, like us, understand packaging design as a genuine driver of innovation for the sector.
The judging panel has also grown in prestige and diversity this year, featuring names such as Víctor Palau (Gràffica), Àlex Gobern, Antonio Pinós (Fira de Barcelona), Miguel García (Avery Dennison) and Damián Rodríguez (Crealis Iberia). And, as in previous editions, Eduardo Ibáñez, Commercial Director at Grupo Argraf, sits on the panel, bringing the perspective of someone who deals first-hand with the technical and creative challenges of label printing and packaging solutions for the wine sector.
As Paula Zúñiga, President of the La Rioja Marketing Club, puts it, the VID Awards have become far more than a competition — they’re a meeting point where wineries, designers, agencies and manufacturers share a common belief: that design, branding and packaging build stronger, more competitive and higher-value brands.
Grupo Argraf: A Leading Name in Wine Label Printing
Sponsoring the VID Awards again is also a way for us to reaffirm our commitment to the wine industry, having spent years working side by side with wineries across Spain on labelling, packaging and visual communication projects. Every label that comes off our production lines carries behind it a level of technical precision designed to ensure the design arrives intact on the bottle — and that’s the very same spirit driving these awards: turning creativity into real results for the brand.
If your winery or design studio is putting together a labelling or wine packaging project, now’s a great time to enter it for the VID Awards. And if you need a partner who can turn that design into a label that truly performs in production, Grupo Argraf is here to help.
